ABOUT

At KATY LAWRYK ONLINE NATUROPATH + DISPENSARY we specialise in natural methods of health care, supplementation, herbal medicine, Nutrition and Exercise Science, using multi-disciplinary knowledge and experience to ensure that you receive the health outcomes you need.

By combining therapies and modalities in biochemical and pathophysiological rehabilitation techniques, we will work with you to holistically reset, reboot and re-nourish you from the inside out.

The journey with natural medicine can be challenging. Often times we are helping your body unwind the compensation methods it has used over the years to help keep you as well as possible. This is where we see that everything works, until it doesn’t!!!

The body is incredibly intelligent when it comes to findings its homeostasis (balance).

The body can move towards health in most instances when given the building blocks through nutrition, supplementation, movement, grounding, sunshine, purpose, connection and contribution to help it facilitate overall health.

What some people may experience during this time can include an exacerbation of symptoms, flare ups of inflammations or irritations, or generally a period of time where the body is removing inflamed tissues through our elimination organs, tissues and glands, travelling throughout your blood stream, into your digestive system and out through your kidneys, lungs, skin and bowels.

This adjustment and clear out period can be challenging, one thing it definitely is, is a process. This takes time, everyone is different and time to resolution will be individual.

By persevering through challenging times when it seems like nothing is changing, and roadblocks or new symptoms start to appear as we dig deeper into your physiology, is where you can experience a real break through. This process will help you to better understand your body, your health and put you in the driver’s seat.

The treatment protocol requires your action and persistence and to do the work while you are outside of the consultation process. This is the challenging part, but this is exactly what I am here to help you with. The true healing is done by you.

My aim is to have you as your own best doctor and health advisor!

CONSULTATIONS

INITIAL CONSULTATION $195/ 75 minutes

Under 15 years old $150 60 minutes

Ample time is spent to develop a working relationship with you, go over your complete health history and story, review current prescription medications and supplements, and review a multitude of systems in your body to help put your results into context when formulating your health care plan.

Treatment recommendations will be made if needed at this stage. Naturopathic practice appreciates that multiple personal choices and systemic factors contribute to a person’s health. While only some of these can be directly addressed clinically, the naturopathic approach brings all into consideration.

Our map in this complex environment is the Naturopathic Therapeutic Order. The focus is conservative, to use the “least force” necessary. We seek to address causal factors, and use the least harmful approaches first.

Our development of personalised strategies at Kin & Tonics Naturopathic Practice is shaped by this order.

Determinants of Health

What type of questions will you be asked during your Initial Naturopathic Consultation?

In order to understand what disturbs health, one must understand what determines health. Therefore, Naturopathic practitioners study the determinants of health. A determinant of health becomes a disturbance when it is absent or present but distorted.

The Importance of an Evolving Treatment Plan

Why are follow up consultations important to your treatment protocol? A plan that was optimal 1 year ago, may no longer be relevant or indicated now.

This is why it is important to regularly follow up with your naturopathic practitioner to make sure that the developed plan is still the best treatment for you. Who you are when you start any health care therapy is not who you are 4-weeks in, 12-weeks in and beyond.

This is why an evolving health care plan is necessary to help guide you every step of the way.

The course set will be individualised based on such factors as intensity of the changes being made, the choice of useful services that may be offered.

PLEASE NOTE: With recent legislation changes not extending coverage by private health insurance for some natural therapies, Katy is not covered by private health insurance. While Katy is not covered by private health insurance, please rest assured that she is insured and registered to practice as a Naturopath.

WHAT I WANT TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE

  • A health pregnancy, healthy hormones, healthy 4th trimester, and happy healthy children
  • Increase energy, enhanced digestion, improved sleep, enhance movement, reduce pain, increase recovery, achieve an optimal weight, enriched mindset, motivation and more
  • Help you understand why you may be experiencing the health challenges you are (education on your body) with tools and programs to help keep you on track alongside the support to help you through the tough times (and it can get tough)
  • Provide you with the tools, insights and know how to have you back in the driver’s seat of your health

TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE THESE OUTCOMES

Helping you build your best health care team and utilise the experience of the practitioners who are meaningful in your health journey.

One Naturopath cannot always cover all your needs. Similarly, good food alone doesn’t equal good health (we also need sunshine, movement, self-nurture, grounding/connection, purpose, contribution and more), we are synergistic and holistic in good health.

We are too complex for one magic bullet to ever be our total solution. It is the series of things we put in front of us that allow us to take the next step towards achieving better and better heath outcomes.

Good health is a result of the effort and hard work you put in. You more you work towards achieving your goals, the quicker and longer you'll be experiencing them.

To help you achieve the best out of your health care journey, we opt to work with or help you engage other specialists into your plan such as medical doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, gynaecologists etc to help build a comprehensive picture of you and your health.

We are all products of the people we have learnt from and the books we’ve read, we each bring a fresh pair of eyes and knowledge to each scenario for the benefit of your health goals.

Having multiple perspectives and skill bases available to you will help to increase the scope of practice to best formulate the most appropriate and individualised treatment plan for your best health outcomes.

PATHOLOGY TESTING

Are you wondering how to uncover the root cause of your health concerns? The answer may be pathology testing!

As different as we look on the outside is as different as we function on the inside.

Testing can help your practitioners to establish your biochemical and pathophysiological set points to better assist in building YOUR optimal health outcomes.

You are unique and unlike anybody else, so why would we be happy in comparing you to a set of reference ranges when we could establish your set points to achieve meaningful health outcomes in your life. This means that your Naturopathic treatment is as individualised as your biochemical makeup.

Laboratory testing will be discussed on an individual basis and facilitated through a number of means. Either through your GP or specialist, or private laboratories including Research Nutrition and Interclinical Laboratories to name a few. Please note, these private laboratory tests are not covered by Medicare.

WILL I BE TAKING SUPPLEMENTS?

Generally, yes. However, this is different for every person.

Some may need some simple herbal support through tinctures, creams or teas, amino acid therapy, superfoods and nutraceuticals, or vitamin and mineral supplementation.

Once you are at a point where your tests results are showing improvement and you are feeling well, we then work at reducing any supplements so you can rely on the nutrients supplied through your diet.

While supplements are great, for most people, they should not be used long term. They most often are best used in the interim to stimulate adaptation responses in your body to enhance its capacity to respond to changes in diet and lifestyle.

At which point supplements can be used as an intermediate to provide support to your body in the areas that most need it during health challenges and major stresses.

A WORD ON SUPPLEMENTS USED

The best practitioner-only supplements are used at Katy Lawryk Online Naturopath + Dispensary. Most are made in Australia under strict TGA regulations. The strengths are therapeutic and unavailable in conventional health food stores, supermarkets or pharmacies.

The herbal dispensary is stocked with the finest quality herbal tinctures, many of which are sourced in Australia. Often a tincture or compounded formula will be made to suit your own individual requirements. This will ensure the best possible health and wellness outcome for you.
